After beginning the 2026 NFL season with a Week 1 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers, the Arizona Cardinals have since dropped each of their last four games.
This losing streak, capped off by the Cardinals' most recent loss to the New York Giants, has sparked conversation regarding the possible benching of starting quarterback Jacoby Brissett.
The Cardinals selected Carson Beck with the No. 65 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, and many fans and analysts are wondering when the rookie will get his opportunity to take the field.
According to NFL insider Dan Graziano of ESPN, the Cardinals are still a ways away from making that move.
“I absolutely expect the Cardinals to take a look at Beck at some point this season, though I've been told it might not happen until late November, when their schedule eases up a bit," Graziano reports. "Arizona's next six games are @ LAR, home against DEN, @ DAL, @ SEA, home to the Rams and @ KC-- a bit of a gauntlet for a rookie QB.
"Of course, it's possible we will see Beck sooner, especially if Brissett gets traded at the deadline, but I don't get the sense the Cardinals are planning to rush this.”
Through the first five games of his 2026 campaign, Brissett has completed 66.3% of his pass attempts for 1,110 yards, nine touchdowns and five interceptions.
