The man who allegedly orchestrated the attempted killing of a Sydney father as he was picking up his daughter from school has been charged with attempted murder months after the shocking incident was caught on camera.
The 44-year-old man and his 15-year-old daughter were confronted by a man armed with a handgun ran up to the driver’s side window of the ute being driven by the father and attempted to pull the trigger on June 9.

Police say the man and his daughter bailed out of the ute and fled down the street, in a moment which was captured on CCTV footage first distributed to 7News shortly after the incident took place.
Previous reporting from the Daily Telegraph has described the man as “an innocent relative” of senior underworld figures.
On Wednesday afternoon, detectives with Taskforce Falcon investigating Sydney’s gangland wars and Raptor Squad officers pulled over a 19-year-old man who was driving through Sans Souci and arrested him.
At the same time, officers descended on a home in Cronulla, where they allegedly seized a knife, illicit drugs and electronic devices.

The man was taken to Sutherland Police Station where he was charged with two counts of attempting to discharge a loaded firearm at a person with intent to murder, installing a tracking device to find an object without consent, supplying prohibited drugs on an ongoing basis, directing the activities of a criminal group, supplying drugs, and possession of a prohibited weapon.
The 19-year-old was refused bail and will appear at Sutherland Local Court on Thursday.
