MyPark, a screen park golf operator, said on the 13th that it will hold the 1st MyPark Championship Masters, offering awards and prizes worth a combined 100 million won (about $70,000).
The tournament will run from Oct. 17 through Dec. 19 at MyPark franchise locations nationwide in three stages: preliminaries, semifinals and the final. Any member of the MyPark mobile application can enter. There is no separate entry fee, though players must pay the standard store usage charge.
In the preliminary round, held from Oct. 17 to Nov. 29, the top 50% will advance to the semifinals. The semifinals, running from Dec. 1 to Dec. 15, will select 48 finalists — 24 men and 24 women. The final will be held on Dec. 19 at the company's branch near Yeongdeungpo District Office in Seoul and streamed live on MyPark's official YouTube channel.
Finalists will receive a championship trophy and park golf clubs provided by sponsors, and all participants will be given prizes. Members who complete five 18-hole rounds on designated courses will be entered into a gift drawing. The five franchise locations that send the most players to the preliminary round will receive park golf clubs and equipment.
Members who want to enter should designate a home store in the app and then play an 18-hole round in tournament mode at any franchise location nationwide. Further details are available on MyPark's website and official app.
