The company announced the additions Thursday, October 22, posting photos of the freshly branded coaches alongside a message to its customers.
"The boss has said the German should also be given a chance! Are you ready?"
The reference to the German origin of the MAN brand formed the centrepiece of the announcement, hinting at a deliberate decision to diversify its vehicle lineup.
Inside the New Coaches
The interior of each new coach features LED lighting running the length of the cabin along overhead luggage racks and across a speckled, mosaic-patterned ceiling.
Rows of two-tone leather seats in charcoal and grey, each fitted with a white headrest cover, line either side of a deep red carpeted aisle.
Wide windows with draw curtains allow natural light into the cabin, while individual air vents and reading lights are accessible from every seat.
The vehicles, distributed by Mobikey Truck & Bus, come fitted with stable WiFi connectivity, USB charging ports, reclining seats and generous legroom.
The bodies were custom-built by Master Fabricators Ltd, a Nairobi-based bus and coach body-building company, on imported MAN chassis.
A Growing Trend Among Kenyan Operators
The acquisitions add to the MAN buses already within Tahmeed's fleet.
The company, which has operated for more than a decade, maintains a fleet of over 50 buses and positions itself as a provider of a five-star travel experience, with onboard amenities including free WiFi, electrical charging outlets, DVD players and flat-screen TVs.
Tahmeed is not the only operator expanding with MAN vehicles.
In July, Ena Coach added four new high-specification MAN coaches unveiled on Friday, July 31, equipped with Wi-Fi, USB ports, reclining seats and spacious legroom.
The move was notable for Ena Coach, which had previously maintained a single luxury vehicle brand across its fleet in order to deliver a uniform standard of comfort.
MAN Truck & Bus is a major commercial vehicle manufacturer headquartered in Munich, Germany, and forms part of the TRATON Group, the commercial vehicle arm of Volkswagen Group.
In Kenya, the brand operates through Mobikey Truck & Bus Kenya as its official authorised distributor.
