Ruth Langsford has revealed her beloved dog Maggie has died in an emotional social media post.
The presenter, 66, said her pet's passing was 'peaceful and painless,' and told her followers she was with her until the 'very end.'
Ruth shared a snap of Maggie playing with one of her toys, writing she had a long and happy life before her death at the age of 16.
The This Morning star had shared custody of Maggie with her ex-husband Eamonn Holmes, after they split in 2024.
Ruth wrote: 'It is with a heavy heart that I tell you our beautiful Maggie has gone to sleep forever.
'She was 16 years old and sadly this was her time. Her passing was painless and peaceful and we were with her until the very end.

'We are so thankful to have had her in our lives for 15 years… she gave us so much joy and unconditional love. We will treasure our memories forever. Rest in peace our beautiful girl.'
Despite her and Eamonn's divorce being one of the most toxic in showbusiness, sources revealed last week that Ruth has been tending to her frail ex following his stroke in April. You can read Katie Hind's full report here.
Ruth and Eamonn, who share their son Jack, separated in May 2024 after 14 years of marriage.
Eamonn's girlfriend Katie Alexander has reportedly moved out of the flat they shared as the presenter continues to recover from a stroke.
The GB News Breakfast presenter suffered a stroke in April and has been in hospital ever since.
Eamonn began renting the three-bedroom Surrey flat following the breakdown of his marriage to Ruth – with Katie, 45, thought to have been splitting her time between the flat and her home in West Yorkshire.
However, she is said to be devastated as she reportedly moved her belongings out of the rented £1.3million home on Friday, with sources remarking that 'it's an incredibly sad situation'.
A source told The Sun on Sunday: 'Katie is still very much together with Eamonn and in love, but she’s moved out of the flat.

'It’s an incredibly sad situation — she loved it there and the time they spent together making it home.
'Katie has been Eamonn’s rock and lifeline since he fell ill. She’s willing him to get back to full fitness and get their lives back on track.'
It is not known where Eamonn will reside when he eventually leaves hospital, while it's reported his family is now looking after his financial affairs amid his hospital stay.
The Daily Mail contacted Eamonn's representatives for comment.
Eamonn and Katie began dating just months after his shock split from Ruth.
Back in March, just a month before his stroke, Eamonn said his girlfriend Katie is 'the perfect tonic' to his health woes.
The broadcaster gave an insight into his 'connection' with his partner and added that despite his physical issues he is still 'on the ball' and enjoys walks in the countryside and going for Chinese food with Katie.
Eamonn underwent major spinal surgery in 2022 for slipped discs and has suffered various other health issues over the past few years, including arthritis in his spine.
Speaking in a new interview he said: 'I may be physically struggling, but mentally I’m still very much on the ball. I honestly don’t feel any different from when I started on TV over 40 years ago.
'Katie is the perfect tonic. There was a time when I could get up and go on the treadmill… but I can’t do that now because of my back.'
Eamonn added to The Mirror: 'When you share the same tastes, it really brings you closer. We’ve definitely bonded over our love of food - it’s become part of our connection.'
It comes as it's said that Eamonn won't be returning to GB News, despite vowing in June that he'll make a full recovery to return to his anchor role.
After six months away from the GB News studios, it is thought that Eamonn's recovery is 'taking longer than expected' and that those close to him are resigned to the fact that his 'career is now over'.
