Garmin has delivered a new update to one of its wearables. Available globally, the new update promises to improve the Descent G2 user experience in several areas.
Garmin has returned to the Descent G2 with a new stable software update. To recap, the company issued Software Version 27.19 over a month ago. As we discussed at the time, the update was said to fix three issues, including one that caused instability when broadcasting one's heart rate.
Now, it has started upgrading the Descent G2 to its second v27.xx update. Specifically, the company has released Software Version 27.21, which should reach Descent G2 wearables in batches (curr. $699 on Amazon). For the time being, Garmin claims to have offered the new update to around 25% of Descent G2 owners.
Once updated, the Descent G2 should no longer suffer from instability related to transit cards. Moreover, Software Version 27.21 is said to fix an issue that occurred when connecting to Virtual Activity apps, including Zwift, on older firmware. On top of that, Garmin asserts that the new update improves calendar widget performance. Please see Garmin's forum post for more details about Software Version 27.21 for the Descent G2.
