After a disastrous start to the season, Merlin Polzin's Hamburg have turned their fortunes around with successive victories over Köln and Hoffenheim, the latter coming courtesy of Miro Muheim's stoppage-time winner last weekend.
Sebastian Hoeneß's Stuttgart also arrive in good spirits after a 2-0 victory away at Paderborn, followed by a 3-0 Champions League win over Slovan Bratislava on Wednesday evening.
Both sides have six points from their opening five league matches, with Stuttgart sitting 12th and Hamburg 13th on goal difference.
The hosts will be hoping for a repeat of last season's dramatic 2-1 victory at the Volksparkstadion.
Here are the confirmed lineups from both sides for today's clash at the Volksparkstadion.
