Fusion, devotion and star power strike a chord at Mysuru Dasara

Music and dance programmes at Mysuru palace and star-studded concerts at Yuva Dasara have kept music lovers and connoisseurs of the performing arts engrossed as the festivities gather momentum and the city fills with visitors arriving to witness the celebrations.

DoReMi Live Band presented a classical fusion performance at the palace on Wednesday evening, enthralling a large audience. The illuminated palace backdrop added to the visual appeal as the performance took listeners to a different musical world.

Devotional music set a spiritual tone for the evening, with singer Sivasri Skandaprasad captivating the audience with her melodious voice. Wife of Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya, she presented a series of devotional compositions.

At Yuva Dasara, the electrifying performance by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy on Wednesday evening turned the venue into a hub of musical energy. The celebrated trio enthralled the packed audience with a string of popular numbers, drawing loud cheers and prompting youngsters to dance to the beats.

Shankar Mahadevan’s son Shivam also joined the performers on stage, sharing the spotlight with his father and the other members of the team. The trio’s popular hits drew loud applause, with the audience singing along and dancing as one song followed another, keeping the energy high throughout the concert.
