Nigerian businessman and social commentator Isaac Fayose has questioned President Bola Tinubu’s ability to participate in campaign activities ahead of the 2027 general election, alleging that the president may be facing health challenges.
Fayose made the claim while reacting to Tinubu’s announcement that he would not attend every campaign venue alongside the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council.
The president had explained that his decision was driven by the need to focus on governance, meet economic obligations and attract investments to Nigeria.
Tinubu made the announcement on Wednesday while inaugurating the APC Presidential Campaign Council.
In a video shared on his official Facebook page on Friday, Fayose argued that Tinubu’s decision not to attend every campaign event could be linked to concerns about his physical strength.
He criticised the president’s explanation that he needed to prioritise governance, accusing the administration of neglecting its responsibilities while Tinubu spent time outside the country.
Fayose also questioned the timing of the decision, arguing that the president should be prepared to engage voters during the campaign period.
He said, “That’s to tell you that Baba is not strong. Baba no fit waka.”

The businessman further compared the situation to that of former United States President Joe Biden, who withdrew from the 2024 presidential race following concerns about his age and fitness for office.
Tinubu Cites Governance And Economic Priorities
Tinubu’s decision not to accompany the APC campaign council to every venue was presented as a move to balance electioneering with his responsibilities as president.
According to the president, remaining focused on governance would allow him to fulfil economic commitments and continue efforts to attract investors to the country.
Fayose, however, disputed that explanation and used the announcement to question the president’s capacity to withstand the demands of a nationwide campaign.
