KUALA LUMPUR: Passengers will enjoy a 30% discount on all Economy Class tickets for the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) during its first month of operations, Transport Minister Anthony Loke said.
He said the promotional discount would mark the launch of the rail service, which is expected to begin operations on Dec 12.
“This is in addition to the permanent discounts for eligible groups, including persons with disabilities, senior citizens and students,” he said at a press conference after the launch of Transport Export Asia 2026 (TXA 2026) here today.

Students aged 13 to 24 would receive a 40% discount.
One-way ECRL fares between Gombak and Kota Bharu will start at RM125 for Transit services and RM147 for Express services when operations begin in mid-December.
However, fares may exceed RM156 depending on booking time and seasonal demand under the railway’s dynamic pricing system.
