After a historic 30th anniversary season in the WNBA, the Atlanta Dream and Golden State Valkyries are the final two teams standing, set to battle it out for the 2026 title. Their matchup is all the more notable as two teams that pride themselves on defense, amid a year that saw explosive, record-breaking offense.
As the No. 2 seed in the playoffs, the Valkyries host Games 1 and 2 at “Ballhalla,” which will be rocking amid record-breaking ticket sales for these Finals. Then the series will shift to Atlanta’s State Farm Arena beginning with Wednesday’s Game 3. This is the second year of the WNBA’s best-of-seven Finals format, so fans could be in for a long, gritty, competitive series after both semifinals saw three-game sweeps.
Which team will win its first WNBA championship? The battle begins on Saturday.
