Quantum computing platform and foundry operator IonQ (NYSE: IONQ) has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Zero Trust cybersecurity firm Elisity, Inc. in an all-stock transaction valued at up to $1.3 billion, including up to $150 million in performance-contingent earnouts.
The acquisition expands IonQ’s security roadmap by integrating its hardware-level post-quantum cryptography (PQC) and quantum key distribution (QKD) technologies with Elisity’s software-defined Zero Trust policy framework. Following closing, the combined entity plans to extend Elisity’s IdentityGraph engine with cryptographic inventory and risk data, enabling enterprise and government clients to manage “harvest now, decrypt later” vulnerabilities while maintaining least-privilege network access controls during multiyear PQC migrations.
