The Milwaukee Bucks are coming into their first year of a rebuild after an offseason in which they traded franchise cornerstone Giannis Antetokounmpo to the Miami Heat. The current Bucks’ roster is a mix of young players and aging veterans one of whom is Kyle Kuzma.
Despite the current state of the Bucks’ roster, Kyle Kuzma is a firm believer in this team, and is of the mind that the group has learned quite a bit from their preseason opener back on Oct. 5 against the Minnesota Timberwolves, as per Cameron Ezeir of CBS 58 Sports Milwaukee.
“We have listeners on this team and that’ll help us out a lot,” Kuzma said. “The mistakes we made in that Minnesota game … you can tell we’ve had self improvement in a lot of different areas. We’ll probably have mistakes but I’m confident that what we’ve seen in the preseason we’ve learned from.”

The Bucks will officially open the 2026-27 NBA season on Wednesday, Oct. 21 on the road against the Washington Wizards. Kuzma is going to be one of the veterans expected to lead this team and steady the ship amid the changing roster.
The No. 27 overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft, Kuzma is now in his 1oth year in the league, and second full season with the Bucks. He was originally acquired during the 2024-25 season at the deadline in the deal that sent Khris Middleton to the Wizards.
The one-time NBA champion is coming off a season in which he appeared in 69 games, including 43 starts, at a little over 26 minutes per game. He averaged 13.0 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.7 assists with splits of 49.2 percent shooting from the field, 34.7 percent shooting from the 3-point line and 72.6 percent shooting from the free-throw line.
