GAUTENG — The National Prosecuting Authority has formally denied issuing any arrest warrants against March and March Movement leader Jacinta Ngobese-Zuma and her husband Xolani Zuma.
The denial came directly from NPA National Spokesperson Kaizer Kganyago, who issued a media statement responding to the claim. Xolani Zuma went public with the allegation on 14 October 2026, stating he had received information suggesting warrants had been issued against both him and his wife.
He indicated that they would hand themselves over to police if the information was true.
NPA calls the claims unfounded
The NPA rejected the characterisation outright, stating no such warrants exist.
The authority also used the statement to caution against what it described as unfounded allegations that distort public understanding of the criminal justice process.
How did South Africans react?
South Africans responded with scepticism on social media, with several users questioning the NPA's credibility.

"NPA, I'm sure you don't expect us to take your statements as gospel. Not in 2026. Especially Kaizer, who boldly told the public the NPA had a strong case against Lieutenant General Khumalo, which was a lie. We shall wait and see."
@Bongani_SP added:
"This statement normally comes before an actual arrest warrant is effected."
@stigger_b offered a contrasting view:
"Thank NPA! A warrant of arrest would mean our government comes after every individual who tries to stand for ordinary South Africans."
@MasondoLB said:
"They were testing public reaction before making their next move against Jacinta. Now they know what to expect. We must remain vigilant, question those in power, and never underestimate the importance of public awareness."

"IDAC fully exposed how y'all operate and the weaponisation of your office."
@ignis_fatui took a wait-and-see approach:
"Bookmarking this for when you guys arrest the Zumas in the next week or so."
Ntsiki Mazwai calls for Ngobese-Zuma's arrest
Briefly News reported that Ntsiki Mazwai took to social media to boldly call for Jacinta Ngobese-Zuma's arrest.
Ngobese-Zuma had handed herself over to Durban police a day prior, facing charges of inciting violence.
The March and March leader's supporters flooded the comments section, accusing Ntsiki of using the activist for clout.
