The closure of King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, has disrupted 10 flights so far operated by four airlines, affecting 3,431 passengers, according to flight management authorities at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
Of the affected flights, three are operated by Saudia Airlines, three by Riyadh Air, and two each by Biman Bangladesh Airlines and US-Bangla Airlines, according to information provided by the Flight Management section today (12 October).
The disruption follows the closure of Riyadh airport after an attack on Saturday (10 October), which has affected flight operations between Dhaka and the Saudi Arabian capital.
Yemen's Iran-aligned Houthis have claimed responsibility for Saturday's strike on Riyadh's international airport that killed 13 people and wounded more than 300, as Saudi authorities reported people were injured in a new attack on the airport on yesterday.
The Saudi-led coalition in Yemen said an "unidentified projectile" targeted Riyadh's international airport Terminal 4 yesterday, causing a fire.
An unspecified number of people were injured, the Saudi civil aviation authority said, adding it is still assessing the damage.
The closure has forced airlines to cancel or suspend scheduled services, leaving thousands of passengers affected by the disruption.
Authorities have advised passengers to contact their respective airlines and check the latest flight status before travelling to the airport.
