A man has been arrested after a man was seen carrying a firearm through Sydney’s Inner West shortly after a car was set alight last week.
At about 10.20am on Friday, a car park in Dulwich Hill became swarmed by police after they were told a man carrying a gun had set fire to an allegedly stolen vehicle.

According to police, the man left the area on foot and was last seen on Union Street
Fire and Rescue NSW teams arrived to extinguish the car, and no injuries were reported. Police then locked down the area, and began a manhunt across Sydney’s Inner West to track the alleged offender down.

At about 11.30pm on Sunday night, police arrested a 32-year-old man on Burwood Road in Burwood after he allegedly “attempted to evade police”.
He was treated at the scene by a NSW Ambulance team for “a minor injury sustained during the arrest”, and then taken by officers to Newtown Police Station.
He has not yet been charged.
