The New England Patriots designated star wide receiver A.J. Brown to return from injured reserve this week, causing many to wonder if he could make his return to the field for the team's Week 6 matchup against the New York Jets. It turns out, that is actually a very real possibility.
The Patriots officially gave Brown a questionable status for Week 6, opening the window for him to make his long-awaited return.
Brown has been sidelined with the high ankle sprain he suffered in Week 1. He recorded three catches for 26 yards on four targets in his New England debut before suffering the injury.
So, it's safe to assume the Patriots are ready for him to be back on the field. Brown's eventual return would provide a boost to the offense, which has averaged 37 points over the last two contests after posting just 12 points per tilt from Weeks 1 to 3.

...
That could be exactly why the Patriots don't rush Brown back this week, though. Head coach Mike Vrabel's review of Brown's week of practice was a bit underwhelming.
"I mean, I think he looks O.K., like everybody, some good plays, some bad plays," Vrabel said. "I try to see where his conditioning level is, and see where he may feel here after practice today."
Only time will tell if Brown will be out on the field come Sunday, but the Patriots could surely use his presence, sitting in second place in the AFC East with a 3-2 record.
A second-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft by the Tennessee Titans, Brown has recorded 527 catches for 8,055 yards and 56 touchdowns in his professional career.
