THE body of a Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency (MCBA) officer allegedly murdered by her husband in Nilai, Negeri Sembilan, is being brought back to Kelantan for burial after a post-mortem was completed this morning.
Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said the body of Norhazwani Ibrahim, 35, was being transported by road and was expected to arrive in Tumpat tonight.
He said the suspect had recently been released from prison after serving a sentence related to a drug offence.
Norhazwani leaves behind two children, aged five and six, who are now being cared for by their maternal aunt.
Speaking separately in Tumpat, the victim’s elder sister, Marliza Ibrahim, 48, said she had told the children that their mother had died but had not disclosed the circumstances of her death.
“This morning, I told them, ‘Your mother has died.’ When they asked why, I simply said it was because she was ill.
“I could not bring myself to tell them what really happened. At such a young age, they would not be able to understand,” she said.
Marliza said she had also explained that their mother would be buried in the ground, like their late grandparents. She said the children appeared to understand.
The family home in Kampung Banjir, Telaga Lanas, has continued to receive visitors, including the deceased’s friends, she added.
Marliza said the family planned to bury Norhazwani at the Tanjung Muslim cemetery in Pengkalan Kubor as soon as the body arrived, without further delay.
Norhazwani was found dead at government quarters near Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) in Nilai on Thursday. Negeri Sembilan police chief Datuk Alzafny Ahmad said police received information about the incident at about 8.30pm.
Initial examinations found two stab wounds on the left side of her abdomen and another on her right cheek, according to Alzafny.
The suspect, who is in his 30s, surrendered to police shortly after the incident and has been remanded for seven days from yesterday.
The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder. - October 17, 2026
