Former Tennessee Titans defensive tackle Jordan Elliott may have thrown away his entire NFL career after new details have surfaced regarding his abrupt release from the team.
According to NFL insider Aaron Wilson, Elliott and offensive tackle JC Latham had a minor practice scuffle that extended into the locker room. From there, things got even more serious.
“After being told to leave the field, Elliott, who was officially released Tuesday after this incident transpired last Thursday, took off his pads on the sideline and stormed out of the Titans’ training facility,” Wilson wrote on X.

“Elliott went to his car in the players’ parking area to retrieve his gun, presumably to confront Latham with the entire sequence captured by security cameras, per sources. The peacemaker that talked Elliott down, per sources: Titans veteran defensive lineman John Franklin-Myers.”
Elliott, who signed a two-year, $8 million deal with the Titans in the offseason. He had previously played under Robert Saleh for two years in San Francisco.
The Titans did not provide details after announcing his release, but Saleh will be speaking to the media on Wednesday morning. As for what led to tempers boiling over, Elliott has reportedly been dealing with issues at home.

Jordan Elliott Had Been Battling ‘Personal Stuff’ Before Incident

“This was so crazy,” a source told Wilson after the incident. “Jordan has been having a lot of problems away from the building and obviously he brought it to work with him.
“There was no reason for him to go off like that. Everyone thought that was wild. To overreact like that is absolutely crazy. We’re just glad that no one got hurt and it’s over.”
It’s an unfortunate situation, but luckily, it was quickly controlled. Hopefully, Elliott can get help dealing with the personal issues he is battling.
Elliott had played in all five games this season before being sidelined in Week 6 due to “personal reasons.” He has recorded 11 total tackles and registered one start. Last season, he started 16 games for the 49ers.
