Kyra Sedgwick reunites with husband Kevin Bacon after heartbreaking personal loss

Kyra Sedgwick and Kevin Bacon are back together after the Footloose actor's recent harrowing experience. On Thursday, October 22, Kyra shared that she and her husband of 38 years reunited just a week after his heartbreaking personal loss.

Last week, Kevin took to social media to ask his fans for help. The actor shared that while working in Ireland, the clothes he shipped from home nearly a month prior had yet to arrive. "On October 11th, [the package] left the UK and came straight to Ireland, where it has been sitting for five days and they say they're unable to deliver it," Kevin said, adding: "I could buy some clothes, but I want these clothes. I've had them since the '90s. They have a certain sentimental value."

On Wednesday, the Mystic River actor shared the good news that his clothes had arrived and thanked followers for "all the sweet comments, and especially to the good people of Ireland who stopped me on the street (and in the sauna) to wish my box a safe return."

With his beloved clothes in tow, Kevin reunited with his wife Kyra around Europe. 

The Closer actress posted a series of photos with her husband, their son Travis, and his girlfriend Angelina Sambrotto, on their travels. She captioned the post: "Where in the world is Kyra Sedgwick? I loved bopping around with my people from Spain to Ireland and beyond!"

Fans of the couple flooded the comments, poking fun at Kevin's missing clothing saga. "Thank goodness Kevin has something to wear!" one fan wrote. Another added: "Know you enjoyed your trip and sorry Kevin lost his clothes."

It may surprise fans of the A-list couple to learn that Kevin and Kyra first meeting happened when she was just 12-years-old. Having attended a matinee of a play that the then 19-year-old Kevin was acting in, Kyra's brother encouraged her to go and tell him how much she'd enjoyed the performance, so she did.

However, the couple only truly met ten years later when they were both working on the 1987 PBS film adaptation of the play Lemon Sky. By this point, Kyra was – hilariously – far less enamored with her future husband. "He definitely wasn't my type," Kyra reminisced to Redbook in 2008.

But, later that year, the two got engaged after Kevin proposed to Kyra on Christmas Eve. The acting icons tied the knot on September 4, 1988, during a private ceremony. In 1989, Kevin and Kyra welcomed their son Travis, and then welcomed their daughter, Sosie Bacon, two and a half years later on March 15, 1992.

Both of Kevin and Kyra's children have followed their parents' examples and pursued careers within the entertainment industry. Travis is a musician, known for his work on the films Story of a Girl, Ghost Woman, and his mom's own film: Space Oddity. Sosie meanwhile is an actress who has starred in works such as Mare of Easttown, 13 Reasons Why, and Smile.

The famous family recently came together for the horror-comedy movie fittingly titled Family Movie, which premiered on March 13, 2026.
