Samsung has expanded its smartphone lineup in Kenya with the Galaxy A08 LTE, a device featuring a 6,000mAh battery, a 50-megapixel main camera, AI-powered search tools and six years of security updates.
The smartphone is designed for everyday use, combining a large display, battery capacity and software support for users who rely on their devices for communication, entertainment, browsing and work.
The Galaxy A08 LTE comes with a 6,000mAh battery and supports 25W fast charging, features intended to help users spend more time streaming videos, browsing social media, gaming and communicating without frequent charging interruptions.
It features a 6.7-inch HD+ PLS LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate, offering a large viewing area for video, reading and social media. The higher refresh rate is designed to deliver smoother scrolling when navigating compatible applications and content.
The device is powered by the Helio G99+ platform and features LPDDR5x memory. Samsung’s RAM Plus feature can also use virtual memory to support multitasking, although actual performance will depend on the device configuration and applications being used.
Photography is handled by a 50-megapixel autofocus main camera and a 2-megapixel secondary rear camera, alongside an 8-megapixel front camera for selfies and video calls. The setup is intended for everyday photography, including capturing personal moments and sharing images on social media.
Samsung is also highlighting the Galaxy A08 LTE’s artificial intelligence capabilities. Circle to Search 3.0 allows users to search for information directly from content on their screens, helping them explore products, identify objects, translate content and find information without manually switching between applications.
The phone also supports AI assistants including Google Gemini and Perplexity, which users can access through supported interactions such as voice commands or a long press. The tools offer conversational assistance for finding information and completing selected tasks.
Software longevity is another part of the device’s proposition. Samsung says the Galaxy A08 LTE will receive six major operating system upgrades and six years of security updates, giving users an extended period of software support. Samsung Knox Vault adds hardware-based protection designed to safeguard sensitive information, including passwords and biometric data.
The Galaxy A08 LTE also connects with Samsung’s wider ecosystem, including compatible Galaxy Buds, Galaxy Watch and Galaxy Tab devices, as well as services such as SmartThings and Samsung Health. Features including Quick Share and Modes & Routines support content sharing and connected-device experiences across compatible products.
With its combination of a high-capacity battery, large display, AI tools and extended software support, Samsung is positioning the Galaxy A08 LTE as an everyday smartphone for users seeking practical features and longer-term usability.
