ASEAN Records and ASIA Records celebrated 205 achievements at a Kuala Lumpur gala, featuring live record attempts and announcing ISO quality certification.
ASEAN Records and ASIA Records celebrated 205 records at the 10th Gather of Achievers – ASEAN Records and ASIA Records Gala Night, attended by more than 400 guests at Hyatt Regency Kuala Lumpur.
The event saw 62 new records presented, while 83 record holders from 2025 and 2026 returned to receive recognition for 143 records previously achieved.
The gala was graced by Melaka Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Seri Setia Dr Mohd Ali Mohd Rustam, who attended as guest of honour. Deputy Entrepreneur and Cooperatives Development Minister Datuk Mohamad Alamin also delivered an address and witnessed the presentation of the record certificates.
In his speech, Mohamad said building a successful enterprise required determination, resilience, innovation and years of hard work, beyond having an idea or ambition.

The new records comprised three ASEAN Records titles and 18 ASIA Records titles, alongside 36 records from 18 achievements recognised at both levels. Five additional records were presented live on stage through two record attempts and a special artist presentation.
Among the highlights were two live record attempts witnessed by the audience.
A G1 humanoid robot developed by Chinese robotics company Unitree set an ASIA Records title for the Most Punches by a Humanoid Robot in Two Rounds of Pad Work, recording 90 punches while operating autonomously.
Face-changing performer Liew Mun Fung, also known as Kimmy Liew, of Galaxy Event achieved an ASEAN Records and ASIA Records title for the Fastest Synchronised Multi-Face Changes Alternated with Magic by a Single Performer, completing the performance in 107 seconds.
Both results were verified on site. FEBA Fight Club managing director Cruise Tan served as external adjudicator for the robot attempt, conducting an independent count alongside the chief adjudicators.
“A record is not something you buy. It is something you prove,” said ASEAN Records and ASIA Records founder, director and chief adjudicator Gillian Ooi.
She said the two live attempts demonstrated how records were measured in front of an audience, adding that other titles presented during the evening had undergone the same evidence-based verification process.
During the founders’ address, Ooi and Eldrick Koh announced that both organisations had received ISO 9001:2015 quality management system certification from SGS, with UKAS and Standards Malaysia accreditation.
According to the organisers, the certification covers their processes for researching, verifying and adjudicating record applications. It is valid from Sept 30, 2026, to Sept 30, 2029, under certificate numbers MY26/00000647 and MY26/00000648.

Koh said the organisations had invited an independent body to audit their processes and that the audit had found no non-conformities.
“Our record holders, our partners and the public deserve that assurance. When you hold an ASEAN Records or ASIA Records certificate, you can stand behind it,” he said.
The organisations also announced new official platforms for publishing verified achievements. ASEAN Records titles will be featured on ASEANRecords.com, SoutheastAsiaRecords.com and SoutheastAsiaBookofRecords.com, while achievements meeting the Asian benchmark will appear on ASIARecords.com and ASIABookRecords.com.
The founders also highlighted their other initiatives, including Tourism Records, launched in support of Visit Malaysia 2026; Food Records; and Youth Achievement Records.
The gala recognised record holders from businesses, organisations, government bodies and individuals, including the Royal Malaysia Police, Zoo Negara Malaysia and Perbadanan Kota Buku.
Among the dignitaries present were Lao Ambassador to Malaysia Thepthavone Sengmany, Yayasan Generasi Malaysia chairman Tan Sri Prof Datuk Wira Dr Abdul Latiff Abu Bakar, ASEAN Records Advisory Board chairman Tan Sri Datuk Danny Ooi and Deputy Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Abdul Aziz Abdul Majid.
The evening also paid tribute to the late Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohamad Ali, who was an ASEAN Records holder and shared an ASIA Records title with former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad. Guests observed a moment of silence in her memory.
The founders said the organisations would maintain the same verification standards as they expanded their platforms and regional presence.
“Behind every record is someone who refused to give up. Our job is to make sure that when the public looks at that achievement, they can trust it completely,” they said in a joint statement.
