Key Takeaways -
AI Agents: Oracle is enabling businesses to automate workflows and build intelligent applications with low-code, no-code, and developer-friendly tools.
Cloud and Database Innovation: Expanded AWS integration and new AI database features offer more ways to connect enterprise data with AI applications.
Security and ROI: Businesses must prioritize data privacy, human oversight, reliable results, and measurable returns before scaling AI adoption.
Oracle has made major moves in artificial intelligence (AI) in 2026. The company now places more focus on AI agents, database tools, cloud services, and AI features for business software. These tools aim to help companies handle tasks, use data, and improve daily work.
Recent updates also show new ties with Google Cloud, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and AstraZeneca. The key question is how these new tools will help businesses solve real problems and control costs.
Oracle Builds a New Platform for AI Agents
On July 14, Oracle introduced an AI-native builder for Fusion Cloud Applications. The platform helps companies create AI agents and multi-agent business apps. Users can build tools with no-code or low-code options, while developers can use tools such as Visual Studio Code, Git, and command-line software. Oracle also highlighted support for developer workflows with Codex and Claude Code.
These agents can work within business processes, rules, and approval steps. For example, a company may create an agent to review a request, check company data, and send the case to the right team. This approach aims to move AI beyond simple answers and toward useful business tasks. Security checks and audit records remain important parts of such systems.
Oracle Expands Its AI Model Choices
On July 30, Oracle and Google Cloud announced plans to bring Google Gemini models to AI Agent Studio and support new AI uses in Fusion Applications and NetSuite. The announcement named Gemini 3.1 Flash-Lite and Gemini 3.5 Flash. These models offer more options for companies that need AI for different types of work.
The wider choice of models can help businesses balance speed, cost, and reasoning ability. A simple task may need a fast, low-cost model, while a complex task may need stronger reasoning. However, the announcement described planned links for some features, so customers must check the exact product and release status before they adopt them.

Oracle AI Database Reaches More AWS Regions
On August 13, Oracle and AWS expanded their cloud partnership. Oracle AI Database@AWS reached 22 AWS Regions, and Exadata Database Service on Exascale Infrastructure became generally available through the service. The partnership also highlighted links with AWS AI and data tools.
This setup gives companies more ways to use Oracle database workloads with AWS services such as Amazon Bedrock and SageMaker. It may also reduce the need to move or copy data between systems for some AI tasks. Businesses can use their existing database assets while they build new AI apps. Still, each company must check service availability, data rules, cost, and system needs before it chooses a setup.
New AI Tools for Oracle Databases and Developers
Oracle has also added features to its AI database tools. Select AI for Java helps developers use Java APIs for AI profiles, chat, vector indexes, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), summaries, translations, and synthetic data. Other updates support short-term and long-term agent memory, agent-team import and export, and links with tools that use the Model Context Protocol (MCP) and agent-to-agent methods.
These features help developers build AI apps around business data. A database user may ask a question in plain English and get a data-based answer through a supported natural-language-to-SQL feature. However, teams must set clear access rules and review generated queries. A wrong query or poor access policy can expose sensitive data or return false results.
Oracle Adds AI Features for Human Resources
On August 11, Oracle announced new AI agents and agentic applications for talent management. The features focus on workforce plans, job design, employee skills, career growth, internal job moves, and personalized learning.
These tools aim to help HR teams match employee skills with company needs. For example, an agent may help a manager find staff with the right skills for a new role or suggest training for a career goal. Such tools may save time, but companies still need fair rules, human review, and clear limits on how they use employee data.
Oracle and AstraZeneca Explore AI for Healthcare
On October 20, Oracle and AstraZeneca announced a collaboration on AI-powered clinical research and healthcare. The first project focuses on hypertension care and clinical research in Abu Dhabi with M42. The companies also named cancer, heart and kidney disease, metabolic conditions, respiratory and immune diseases, and rare diseases as possible areas of interest.
The work may help improve clinical trial recruitment, safety checks, and the use of real-world health data. The partners say they plan to use de-identified data with suitable privacy and legal controls. However, the agreement is non-binding and exploratory. It does not mean every planned tool already works in clinical practice or has produced proven health results.
AI Growth Brings Cost and Delivery Risks
Oracle’s AI plans also raise questions about cost and returns. AI data centers need large sums of money, power, chips, and network capacity. Oracle must turn customer demand and cloud contracts into steady revenue while it manages these expenses. Reports about credit risks in the AI infrastructure sector have also raised concerns about debt and future returns.
Businesses face their own challenges. They must test AI accuracy, protect private data, set user permissions, and measure real results. A tool may look useful in a demo but fail to save time or money at scale. Clear goals and careful trials can help companies judge its value.

What Oracle’s AI Push Means for Businesses
Oracle’s 2026 updates point to a clear goal: AI should work with business data and help complete real tasks, not just produce text. AI Agent Studio, Select AI, wider cloud links, and new model choices give companies more ways to build such tools.
The real test will come from customer results, safe use, reliable service, and sound costs. Businesses that start with a clear need and track results can judge whether Oracle’s new AI tools offer real value.
