As much as the NFL dominates the sports calendar, it is the shortest season of the three historically major sports in the United States. It seems like just yesterday the Cleveland Browns were setting their initial 53-man roster and getting ready for Week 1 of the 2026 NFL season.
The Browns are now six games into their season, have crossed the quarter pole of the year a couple of weeks ago, and have two other schedule markers just ahead: The NFL trade deadline and their bye week.
Could GM Andrew Berry be big game hunting at the deadline, with the potential of a very high pick coming from the Los Angeles Rams due to injury? Will the roster be resting up for a late playoff push? Will fans, and Cleveland natives like Jason Kelce, have the Browns on their minds at Thanksgiving with family?
Here is Cleveland’s schedule, including the deadline and bye week, heading into Turkey Day:
- 10/25: Away versus the Tennessee Titans
- 11/1: Away versus the Pittsburgh Steelers
- 11/8: Away versus the New Orleans Saints
- 11/10: NFL trade deadline at 4 PM Eastern
- 11/15: At home versus the Houston Texans
- 11/22: Bye Week
- 11/26: Thanksgiving Day
A lot to happen between the end of Week 6 and Thanksgiving, especially with three straight road games. The positives are facing the one-win Titans, the Steelers the week after they return from the first game in Paris (amid civil unrest happening in France), and a Saints team that has seen QB Tyler Shough come back to earth pretty quickly.
Winning two or all of their next three games could give Berry even more confidence to be aggressive at the deadline. The bye week happening later in the season could give the young Browns roster a chance to recover and any new additions more time to get acclimated to the team.
If all that happens, Cleveland fans will be stuffing their faces with good food on Thanksgiving while opening their mouths to talk nothing but the Browns.
I believe the young folk call that “wishcasting.”
What jumps out to you about the upcoming Browns schedule until Thanksgiving?
