Liam Robert Dobbs-Morency was charged Oct. 19 with one count of possession of child sexual abuse and exploitation materials, the Surrey Police Service said in a news release Friday.
Dobbs-Morency was arrested June 13 after allegedly approaching a child playing in a driveway in the Newton neighbourhood of Surrey and picking him up. Bystanders jumped in and detained the man.
He was charged the next day with one count of abduction of a person under 14, and one count of possession of a prohibited weapon.
After his arrest, the Surrey police special investigation unit looked into reports Dobbs-Morency possessed child pornography.
He remains in custody.
