Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has warned his players to expect a difficult encounter against Galatasaray, insisting they must remain focused ahead of UEFA Champions League clash in Istanbul, which comes off in Tuesday, October 13.
Barcelona travel to Turkey for their Matchday Two fixture after opening their campaign with an emphatic 5-1 victory over Feyenoord.
Flick is pleased with what he has seen from his players in training and believes the strong atmosphere within the dressing room has contributed to the team’s performances.
However, the German coach has cautioned that Barcelona must be ready for a different challenge against Galatasaray, particularly in the intense atmosphere expected at their home ground.
“Every game is different, every game starts with 0-0. So also tomorrow, it’s not an easy game for us. It’s a very difficult game for us, and we have to show it,” Flick said.
He also reminded his players that football fortunes can change quickly, urging them to maintain their concentration and demonstrate their readiness for the challenge.
“It’s a privilege to be there at the moment, but we know also that in football it can change very fast, so we have to be focused, like we normally do, and this is what I want to see from my team,” he added.
Galatasaray will be seeking a response after losing 3-1 to Sporting CP in their opening fixture, while Barcelona will aim to maintain their winning start to the competition.
