Saudi Grand Mufti denounces attacks on pilgrims
The Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia, Sheikh Dr Saleh bin Fawzan Al-Fawzan, has condemned the attacks carried out by the Houthis against civilians, innocent lives, and those journeying to Islam's Two Holy Mosques in Makkah and Madinah.
Al-Fawzan emphasised that targeting the visitors of Masjid Al-Haram in Makkah and Masjid An-Nabawi in Madinah is among the gravest crimes, warning that those who attack the sanctities of Allah face severe punishment.
Pilgrims who were on their way to perform Umrah were among those injured in a deadly Houthi strike King Khalid International Airport on October 10.
Two missiles down
Early on Tuesday, the Saudi-led Coalition fighting the Houthis in Yemen announced intercepting and destroying two Houthi ballistic missiles that were launched towards Khamis Mushait in the kingdom.
More travel disruptions
Qatar Airways temporarily suspended flights to and from Riyadh and Dammam in Saudi Arabia due to the "current situation".
Abu Dhabi-Riyadh flights cancelled
Etihad Airways said it had cancelled flights between Abu Dhabi and Saudi Arabia's Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam due to "regional disruption", as Yemen's Iran-aligned Houthi group continues to carry out attacks on Saudi Arabia.
All flights between Abu Dhabi and Riyadh have been cancelled until October 19, it said.
