KUANTAN: A herd of cattle created a disruption at a traffic light junction in Sungai Isap here after wandering through waiting vehicles and crossing against a red light.
Motorists were forced to wait as the animals casually weaved past vehicles at the junction.
A 10-second video of the incident, recorded about 8pm yesterday, was posted by Facebook user Suhaila Zulkifli on the Warga Kuantan page, drawing mixed reactions from social media users.
In the clip, the person recording the video expressed surprise at the sudden appearance of the animals.
"Whose cow got loose near the Sungai Isap traffic light? I was quite shocked when I looked to the side and saw a cow with its whole gang! Not only that, it even ran a red light," the caption read.
The user added lightheartedly that if the government allowed members of the public to claim and sell unattended cattle found on roads, they would load one into their vehicle.
Commenters called on the Kuantan City Council to take enforcement action, noting that the junction sits along a main access route into Kuantan town.
Another user, identified as GrayPassionfruit2818, commented: "Sorry, those are my cattle. Never mind, take them, but leave one for me. Do share their latest location."
Cattle roaming onto roads amid heavy traffic have become a growing safety concern in the area, prompting calls from social media users for livestock owners to better secure their animals.
