NAIROBI: BUSINESSES in Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda are expected to benefit from expanded market access, investment opportunities and commercial partnerships following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Tanzania National Chamber of Commerce (TNCC), the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI), and the Uganda National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (UNCCI).
The agreement aims to expand markets for goods and services, strengthen value chains and address barriers affecting cross-border trade among the three countries.
Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), women and young entrepreneurs are among the key groups expected to benefit from the new opportunities.

Under the partnership, the three chambers will exchange market intelligence, connect businesses with buyers, suppliers and investors, and coordinate training programmes to help entrepreneurs access foreign markets and meet the required standards.
The MoU was signed during the Africa Commerce and Industry Summit (ACIS 2026), held in Nairobi, Kenya.
The Tanzania National Chamber of Commerce participated in the summit under the leadership of its president, Vicent Minja, who emphasised the importance of strengthening regional trade and accelerating the implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
The agreement is expected to deepen commercial ties among the three East African countries, improve business linkages and create additional opportunities for enterprises seeking to expand beyond their domestic markets.
