How worried should we be about Jayson Tatum after his play for the Boston Celtics in their Opening Night loss to the Detroit Pistons? The St. Louis native put up just 13 points and 11 assists on a night he shot just 6-of-23 from the floor overall, 0-from-7 from beyond the arc, and perhaps more concerning, just 4 rebounds and 1 trip to the line.
Is this cause for alarm given the Duke alum had to exit the Celtics postseason series vs. the Philadelphia 76ers in the 2026 NBA Playoffs early with discomfort from an Achilles tendon injury he had just returned from? Or is this simply a case of the yips as the team tests out a new build for the first time after having made some major moves this offseason?
The folks behind the "WEEI Boston Sports Original" YouTube channel put together a clip from their "Greg Hill Show" taking a closer look. Check it out below!
