Two co-conveners of the Kokrajar Janta Party, Saurabh Das and Ashutosh Ranka, have been sent to five-day judicial custody and moved to Tihar Jail by Delhi Police. The action comes after the duo attempted to stage a protest at Jantar Mantar with the Tricolour and allegedly breached security barricades while entering the adjacent Janata Dal United office premises. Delhi Police cited multiple grounds for their custody, including violation of prohibitory orders under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, trespassing, obstructing a public servant on duty, and breaching a one-year peace bond executed on 11 October. Meanwhile, another party leader, Ajinkya Shinde, was released after signing a bail bond of 5,000 rupees with an order to ensure no disturbance for six months. Following the court order, party founder Abhijeet Dipke strongly criticised the move and accused the central government of attempting to crush democratic dissent under an undeclared emergency.

'It's We the People Against the BJP': AISA President Neha Bora on Protests
All India Students' Association (AISA) president Neha Bora addressed the ongoing demonstrations against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise. Speaking on the unity of opposition and student groups, Bora asserted, "It's we the people against the BJP." She rejected labels such as "Andolan Jeevi" and "Dimagi Naxal," stating that government repression has consolidated diverse groups into a united front to protect democratic values. Emphasising the fundamental significance of universal adult franchise, she argued that mismanagement of the electoral roll compromises the democratic mandate of common citizens. Bora denied allegations that student protests cause anarchy, pointing instead to train cancellations, metro shutdowns, barricades, and security crackdowns by the state. Defending demonstrations across public locations, she maintained that the Constitution guarantees citizens the right to protest without requiring permission from authorities that restrict democratic spaces.
CJP Leaders Arrested Over Jantar Mantar Flash Stir, Produced In Court
Delhi Police have placed Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) leaders Saurav Das, Ashutosh Ranka, and Ajinkya Shinde under preventive arrest following an unauthorised flash protest at Jantar Mantar. The stir occurred after authorities denotified Jantar Mantar as a designated protest venue. The leaders, along with supporters carrying the national flag, allegedly breached barricades and climbed locked gates. Police registered an FIR against them for trespassing, citing allegations of scaling gates near the Janata Dal (United) office. Authorities are also probing whether the demonstration breached a one-year peace bond reportedly signed by the leaders during earlier detentions. CJP representatives contested the police claim, maintaining that no such peace bond was executed and defending their right to demonstrate. Meanwhile, CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke alleged that the detained leaders were held unlawfully, denied access to legal counsel, and had their phones confiscated. The arrested leaders are being produced before an executive magistrate.
