Liverpool have released a new biography honouring the life and legacy of former forward Diogo Jota, with all profits from the book set to support a grassroots football programme being established in his name through the LFC Foundation.
The club announced the release on Thursday through its X account.
Titled “Forever in Our Hearts”, the book was written by Portuguese author and former professional footballer José Delgado and published by Reach Sport.
The biography traces Jota’s journey from his early years in Portugal to becoming one of his generation’s admired players and a cherished member of Liverpool’s football family.
It features interviews with family members, friends, teammates and coaches, including contributions from Jota’s wife, Rute, his parents, Isabel and Joaquim, former Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp, and more than 90 other people who knew him.
Their accounts offer personal insights into the forward’s footballing ability, determination, humility and the relationships that shaped his life and career.
The book also celebrates the special bond between Jota and his brother, André Silva, while reflecting on the impact both men had on teammates, supporters and the wider football community.
Jota enjoyed a successful career that included Premier League success with Liverpool and UEFA Nations League glory with Portugal, earning recognition for his performances and contributions to the teams he represented.
However, the biography also recounts the tragic events surrounding the deaths of Jota and André in July 2025. Their deaths prompted an outpouring of grief and tributes from across the football world.
Speaking about the project, Delgado said the book began as an opportunity to preserve Jota’s memory during a period of profound sadness.
“My commitment throughout was to tell his story with care, honesty and respect for Diogo, André, and the family and friends who loved them,” he said.
Delgado added that the willingness of those who shared their memories helped bring the brothers’ personalities and the depth of affection people had for them to life.
He also highlighted the special relationship between Jota and Liverpool, saying those he spoke to during his research discussed not only the forward’s ability on the pitch but also his humility, commitment and character.
The author expressed hope that “Forever in Our Hearts” would serve as a fitting tribute to Jota’s life and legacy while inspiring future generations.
The book is available through official Liverpool FC stores and online, with all profits directed towards the grassroots football programme being established in Jota’s name.
The release is part of Liverpool’s continuing efforts to honour Jota and his brother. Earlier in 2026, the club unveiled a permanent memorial outside Anfield, giving supporters a place to remember the brothers and reflect on their lasting influence on the football community.
Through the biography and the planned grassroots initiative, Liverpool aims to preserve Jota’s legacy beyond his achievements on the pitch and help future generations experience the game he loved.
