By Zoila Palma: The Ministry of Immigration, Governance and Labour continued its countrywide Training and Development Workshop for Immigration Officers on October 13 and 14, with sessions reaching officers in southern Belize, the west and San Pedro.
The programme, delivered in collaboration with the Ministry of the Public Service, began in August to strengthen officers’ understanding of public service procedures, promote professional development and improve customer service.
The day-and-a-half sessions cover public service management, recruitment, performance appraisals, conditions of service, codes of conduct, disciplinary and grievance procedures, quality assurance and workplace civility.
The training initiative will continue in November, with sessions planned for officers at the Belize City Immigration Office and those stationed at the Philip Goldson International Airport.
