Less than a week from now, Alexander Volkanovski will defend his featherweight title against Movsar Evloev at UFC 333. While the 38-year-old Aussie is still focused on extending his MMA career and has already named young guns like Kevin Vallejos as potential future opponents, he also has some exciting plans outside the Octagon.
Those plans involve reuniting with a former rival, Islam Makhachev, for an adventure in Dagestan. Volkanovski recently revealed that he wants to travel to the welterweight champion’s homeland for a trip filled with hunting, cooking, and camping in the mountains.

During a recent interview with TMZ, Volk revealed that he and Makhachev have already discussed the idea of going on the trip together. The adventure would also be part of his YouTube cooking show, “Cooking With Volk.”
The revelation came after the interviewer asked whether Volkanovski had a dream collaboration in mind for his channel, whether with a chef, celebrity, or another famous personality.
He said, “I mean, there’s so many. There is so many, but I love the idea of Islam Makhachev doing it with him. So, we have already even chatted. So I’m going to go to Dagestan, in the mountains, horseback hunting, hunting on horseback, catching whatever we catch and then cooking it, literally over a wood fire, camping out.”

Alexander Volkanovski Has Already Teamed Up With Several MMA Stars on His Cooking Show
Volkanovski has already welcomed some big names from the MMA world to his YouTube channel. One notable collaboration featured Israel Adesanya, with the two teaming up to make kangaroo burgers and showing viewers how to handle the ultra-lean meat and season the patties.
In another fan-favorite episode, Merab Dvalishvili joined Volk to whip up a massive spread. The Georgian brought plenty of comedy to the kitchen, offering a fun contrast to the strict diets and intense training sessions that come with life as a UFC fighter.
Volkanovski has also teamed up with internet sensation Hasbulla at the Royal Stacks burger joint in Melbourne. The pair smashed beef patties together and mixed up Hasbulla’s special secret burger sauce, giving fans another entertaining crossover.
The Aussie has previously expressed interest in bringing Ilia Topuria onto the show, too. However, a potential collaboration with Makhachev could be particularly special given their history inside the Octagon.

The two have faced each other twice in UFC lightweight title fights, with Makhachev winning both encounters. Seeing the former rivals put their competitive history aside to hunt, cook, and camp together in Dagestan would give fans a completely different look at the two champions.
