PUTRAJAYA: Former national hockey player Arrifin Ghani has been appointed the new National Sports Council (NSC) director-general in a leadership swap with Jefri Ngadirin, who becomes the new Sports Commissioner.
Arrifin moves over from the Sports Commissioner's office, while Jefri leaves his post as NSC director-general to take up the new role.
The Youth and Sports Ministry said the restructuring aimed to strengthen governance across its agencies.
"The ministry is confident that this restructuring will enhance managerial efficiency, strengthen service delivery, and streamline the execution of national sports development policies and initiatives.
"The ministry also expresses its gratitude to both officers for their service and hopes they will maintain their commitment in their new roles to further elevate the national sports ecosystem," it said today.
