The President of Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, has announced that investors applying with N50,000 or less will receive priority in the Dangote Refinery initial public offering (IPO), as the company seeks to make the share sale accessible to more Nigerians.
Dangote disclosed this during the final leg of the refinery’s nationwide IPO roadshow in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, where investors, business leaders and financial market experts discussed the offering.
“We will prioritise people with 50,000 and below,” Dangote stated, according to a Wednesday statement by the Dangote Group.
He said the public offering would allow Nigerians to acquire shares in the refinery and participate directly in the ownership of what he described as a major industrial project built on Nigerian soil.

Dangote noted that African and international investors had already invested substantial capital in the facility, adding that the IPO would create an opportunity for Nigerians to become shareholders in the business.
“African investors have invested in this refinery. Now it is time for Nigerians to invest in themselves and participate in a project that is creating value, jobs and opportunities for generations to come,” he said.
The Dangote Group president also encouraged prospective investors to consider the long-term benefits of participating in the offering, noting that investing in the refinery could support wealth creation and portfolio diversification.
He further said expanding public participation in the stock market could strengthen financial literacy and encourage a stronger culture of saving and investing among Nigerians.
According to him, greater involvement in the capital market would also help Nigerians understand how businesses create value and contribute to the country’s economic growth.
