It is no news to anyone that Ryanair is one of the largest airlines in Europe. Since its early days, the airline has built a massive network across the continent, offering travelers some of the cheapest options for getting around Europe. The United Kingdom has always been central to its strategy. Ryanair is now the country's third-largest airline by departures, behind easyJet and British Airways.
This year, the low-cost carrier has added several new routes from the UK, including around 11 for the upcoming winter season across both domestic and international markets. It also has some interesting additions planned for summer 2027.
Liverpool Gets Three New Ryanair Routes This Winter
Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LPL) is seeing several additions to its route network this winter. Starting October 26, Ryanair is launching twice-weekly services (operating every Monday and Friday) to Gdańsk International Airport (GDN) and Copenhagen Airport (CPH), and three weekly flights to Warsaw Chopin Airport (WAW). The latter marks a change from the airline’s previous route to Warsaw Modlin Airport.
Indeed, these additions are part of Ryanair’s major Winter 2026 operational expansion at Liverpool. Last month, the budget carrier announced that it would base a sixth aircraft at the airport for the winter season, which it expects to deliver 100,000 additional seats and 11% growth. Overall, the Irish airline will operate more than 2,500 flights from Liverpool this winter, with around 24 to 25 daily departures on peak days.

Ryanair Adds Four Routes As easyJet Exits Leeds Bradford
Moving forward to summer 2027, Leeds Bradford Airport (LBA) will see four new additions to its route network. As noted in the table above, Ryanair is adding four brand-new routes from the Yorkshire hub: Tirana (TIA), Bari (BRI), Budapest (BUD), and Corfu (CFU). On the Corfu route, the Irish low-cost carrier will face direct competition from Jet2, which already has a strong seasonal presence in the market.
Bari, meanwhile, has no other nonstop airline service from Leeds Bradford to southern Italy, although the budget airline faces indirect regional competition from Manchester Airport, where multiple carriers serve the region. The new routes come as rival easyJet prepares to withdraw from Leeds Bradford in 2027. From January 5, the airline will end services on five routes: Belfast International (BFS), Barcelona El Prat (BCN), Málaga (AGP), Palma de Mallorca (PMI), and Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG).

However, none of these destinations is set to lose nonstop connectivity from Leeds, as Jet2 will continue serving Barcelona, Paris Charles de Gaulle, Málaga, and Palma. Ryanair also operates flights to Málaga and Palma. Both Jet2 and Ryanair have moved to take advantage of easyJet's exit. On August 20, the Irish carrier announced $40.11 (£29.99) "rescue fares" for passengers affected by the withdrawal, especially to Málaga (where it operates ten weekly flights). These promotional fares are available to book until the end of February.
UK Remains One Of Ryanair's Busiest International Markets
Furthermore, the UK continues to be one of Ryanair’s busiest international markets. Earlier in April, the airline said it was expecting to carry 61 million passengers in the UK in 2026. For the upcoming winter season, the country ranks as its second-busiest international market, with roughly 2,795 weekly departures in a typical midweek period in November.
Ryanair is making several changes to its UK operations this winter. Manchester Airport (MAN) is receiving a 19th-based aircraft, which will add 50,000 extra winter seats. At Birmingham Airport (BHX), a ninth-based aircraft forms part of a $900 million investment and will support five new destinations, including Copenhagen and Marrakesh. Edinburgh Airport (EDI) is also seeing growth, with its winter network expanding by 11%.
London Stansted Airport (STN) will remain Ryanair’s busiest airport, both in the UK and across its entire network, with roughly 1,224 weekly departures during the peak winter period. The airline is also launching new winter services from Stansted to Glasgow, Malmö in Sweden, and Parma in Italy.
