South Korea's National Assembly Legislation and Judiciary Committee adopted a confirmation hearing report on special inspector nominee Choi Gil-soo on the 22nd.
The committee passed the report on Choi at a plenary session the same day, about a month after his confirmation hearing was held on Sept. 18.
The report carries both the ruling and opposition parties' assessments side by side, with one deeming Choi qualified and the other unqualified, according to sources. The two sides had clashed over adopting the report before agreeing to include both positions.
If President Lee Jae-myung appoints Choi, it would bring to a close a vacancy in the special inspector post that has lasted about a decade.
