DAEJEON — Park Min-beom, the eighth president of Daejeon Technopark, pledged on the 19th to turn the agency into a core platform that channels the research capabilities and original technologies of the Daedeok Innopolis into growth for local companies, as well as a "game changer" driving change in the region's industrial ecosystem. He spoke at his inauguration ceremony held in the main auditorium of Eoullim Plaza.
Park is an administration and policy specialist who entered public service in 1996 and has served as director of policy planning for Daejeon, deputy head of Dong-gu District and director general of the administrative affairs bureau.
He laid out four strategic priorities: building an integrated industrial data platform for Daejeon, drawing up a mid- to long-term roadmap for nurturing the city's strategic industries, providing tailored support packages matched to each stage of corporate growth, and strengthening the agency's external standing as Daejeon's leading hub institution.
The plan calls for targeted support tailored to each phase of the growth cycle, based on industrial conditions and corporate needs, in order to lift the future competitiveness of local industry.
Park also put forward "three-gong" management — fairness, empathy and sharing — as the guiding principle for running the organization. Under the approach, the agency will select and support capable companies in a fair and transparent manner while listening to voices from the field and sharing results with staff.
"I will develop Daejeon Technopark into an institution that leads innovation in local industry, with leadership that listens closely to voices from the field and sets an example," Park said.
