Tyler Ulrich, a 21-year-old football player at Southern Nazarene University, died Thursday. He had suffered a traumatic injury five days earlier.
The injury happened in a game against Ouachita Baptist University in Arkansas.
There are no details about the injury suffered by Ulrich, who played safety at SNU. Via KOCO, the Southern Nazarene play-by-play announcer Dave Myrick said Ulrich was down on the field after the play, but that he couldn’t tell what had happened.
It’s an unimaginable tragedy for Ulrich’s family and his team. Saturday’s game at Southwestern State University has been canceled.
A GoFundMe account has been established to assist Tyler’s family during this time.
We extend our condolences to Tyler Ulrich’s family, teammates, coaches, and friends.
