Former Corps Marshal Dauda Biu left an indelible mark on road safety administration, operational efficiency, and institutional growth.
The Federal Road Safety Corps Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, stated this in a condolence message on Sunday in Abuja.
Mr Mohammed described Mr Biu as a distinguished officer whose career was marked by dedication, discipline and commitment to public service. He said Biu’s death was a significant loss not only to his immediate family and loved ones but also to the FRSC and the nation at large.
He said the deceased joined the corps in its formative years and rose through the ranks to become its seventh substantive Corps Marshal, serving from July 2022 to May 2024. According to him, Mr Biu’s years of service reflected his deep understanding of the corps’ mandate and unwavering commitment to advancing road safety administration, operational effectiveness and institutional development.
“As a former head of this great Corps, he occupied a place of honour in our institutional history,” Mr Mohammed said.
Mr Mohammed added that Biu’s contributions to the growth and development of the FRSC remained part of the collective legacy upon which the corps continued to build.
“Biu’s passing is not merely the loss of a former leader but also that of a colleague, a seasoned professional and a compatriot who devoted a significant part of his life to the service of humanity and the safety of Nigerians.
“On behalf of the management and entire workforce of the FRSC, I extend our heartfelt condolences to Biu’s immediate family, friends, associates and all those whose lives he touched,” Mr Mohammed said.
He said the corps shared in their grief at the difficult moment and prayed that Almighty God would grant them the strength to bear the irreparable loss.
The corps marshal also prayed for Allah’s forgiveness for the shortcomings of the deceased and for the granting of paradise to him.
“Rest in peace, Dauda Biu. Your service to the nation will not be forgotten,” he said.
The FRSC boss reiterated the corps recognition of Biu’s contributions to the corps and the country, noting that his service and legacy would remain part of the institution’s history.
