Telangana and Karnataka can combine their complementary strengths to build an integrated industrial value chain spanning aerospace, life sciences, semiconductors, textiles and technology services, Telangana IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu said on Friday (October 16, 2026).
Speaking at the Bengaluru roadshow of Invest Telangana Global Summit 2026, organised in association with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), he invited Karnataka-based companies to participate in the summit scheduled to be held at Bharat Future City, Hyderabad, from December 7 to 9.
Describing the two States as “two halves of one value chain”, Mr. Sridhar Babu said Telangana was seeking partnerships with Karnataka rather than competing with it for investments. The two States could leverage their respective strengths in research, design, manufacturing and large-scale production to strengthen India’s industrial ecosystem, he said.
He cited opportunities for aircraft engines designed in Bengaluru to be machined in Hyderabad’s aerospace parks, vaccines developed in Bengaluru’s biotechnology laboratories to be manufactured at scale in Genome Valley, and semiconductor designs to be integrated into electronics manufactured in Telangana. Similarly, cotton produced in Telangana could be processed at the Kakatiya Mega Textile Park and supplied to Bengaluru’s garment manufacturers serving global brands.
Global companies with their first Indian capability centres in Bengaluru could consider Hyderabad for their subsequent facilities, drawing on the talent pool and innovation ecosystem comprising institutions such as the Indian Institute of Science, IIT Hyderabad, the Indian School of Business and IIIT Hyderabad, besides startups supported by T-Hub, he said.
Mr. Sridhar Babu highlighted Bengaluru’s position as a major startup, aerospace and technology hub, acknowledging Karnataka’s contribution to India’s knowledge economy through institutions and organisations such as Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO( and the National Aerospace Laboratories. Telangana, meanwhile, had developed significant capabilities in information technology, life sciences and aerospace manufacturing, he said.
Outlining the State’s Telangana Rising 2047 vision, the Minister said the government aimed to build a $1 trillion economy by 2034 and a $3 trillion economy by 2047 under the leadership of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy.
He identified Bharat Future City, envisioned as a net-zero greenfield urban development with an AI City and a dedicated Mobility Valley, as a key component of the State’s growth strategy. Other initiatives included the Young India Skills University, the Regional Ring Road, new industrial corridors and the Musi rejuvenation programme.
The government was following a region-based development framework comprising Core Urban Region Economy (CURE), Peri-Urban Region Economy (PURE) and Rural Agricultural Region Economy (RARE), he said. The Core Urban Region Economy within the Outer Ring Road would focus on information technology, services, global capability centres and innovation; the Peri-Urban Region Economy between the Outer and Regional Ring Roads would concentrate on manufacturing, industrial parks and logistics; while the Rural Agriculture Region Economy beyond the Regional Ring Road would promote agro-processing, food processing and green industries.
“CURE thinks, PURE makes, RARE grows,” he said, explaining the rationale behind the framework.
The Minister assured prospective investors of time-bound clearances through the Telangana State Industrial Project Approval and Self-Certification System (TG-iPASS), along with support from the government in facilitating investments. He also thanked investors for the confidence they had placed in Telangana at the Telangana Rising Global Summit held in December last year.
