Under the multi-year agreement, COLIBRIX ONE will use Vivox AI’s explainable AI agents to verify corporate documents, map ownership structures and conduct sanctions and adverse media screening on new business customers. COLIBRIX ONE’s compliance analysts will review and sign off on every case, with each AI-driven finding traceable to its source.
The agreement comes as payment and e-money firms handle growing onboarding volumes while UK and EU regulators step up scrutiny of financial crime controls across the sector. For platforms that compete on onboarding speed, due diligence on merchants with complex, multi-jurisdiction ownership structures is the most time-consuming step in the process.
COLIBRIX ONE is a commercial brand operated within the Mellifera group by Colibrix Limited (authorised by the UK Financial Conduct Authority as an electronic money institution) and Mellifera Kartiera Limited (authorised by the Malta Financial Services Authority). The platform combines card acquiring for one-time and recurring transactions, multi-currency current accounts with dedicated named IBANs, and global payouts, holding principal memberships with Visa and Mastercard.
Vivox AI’s agents analyse corporate registries and documents across more than 155 countries, identify ultimate beneficial owners, shareholders and directors, producing a full customer or enhanced due diligence report for analyst review. In a deployment at payments firm TransferMate earlier this year, the company said due diligence time fell from about 60 minutes to under 15 minutes per case and screening alerts dropped 86 percent.
“Payment platforms like COLIBRIX ONE are growing faster than compliance teams can hire,” said Tim Khamzin, founder and CEO of Vivox AI. “AI agents take on the document-heavy due diligence work where every conclusion comes with a clear audit trail, so analysts stay in control and regulators can see exactly how a decision was reached. That is what makes AI usable in a regulated business.”
The rollout will begin with merchant onboarding in the UK and EU, with plans to extend to ongoing monitoring / additional entities in 2027.
