‘You would think a $50,000,000 custom-made bra would fit’, lingerie expert Katie Weir tells Metro.
When Kylie Jenner stepped out at the 2026 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in the diamond-encrusted Fantasy Bra — which took 15 craftspeople 1,000 hours to make — online debate kicked off immediately.
Of course there were those praising the model and entrepreneur, who looked breathtaking. But there were also a handful of people, like Katie, who couldn’t help but point out one slight problem: the fit.
‘The bra is literally digging into her breast tissue at the side’, she tells Metro. ‘Considering she has revealed she has breast implants, I imagine that could be quite painful.
‘Then, there was spillage at the front’.
While bra fitter Katie concedes that the ‘fuller bust’ look might have been intentional, she also explains that you can get the same effect with a properly fitting bra.
‘Her angel wings and the part of her hair meant we couldn’t see the back of the bra, but if we’re going off where it sat on the other models, I am not optimistic,’ Katie adds.
One of the biggest red flags for a bra fitter is a back band that does not meet the straps at a 90 degree angle — essentially it needs to match where the band sits at the front, too. For Katie, model Abény Nhial’s look was an example of this.
Other issues she saw at the show included Elsa Hosk’s pink corset look, which appeared to pinch the skin under her bust.
Despite knowing she would be disappointed, having seen similar issues during previous Victoria’s Secret catwalks, Katie always tunes in for the ‘femininity and gorgeousness’ of it.
Katie, through her years in the industry, has earned the name ‘tit witch’ and explains that she can assess a woman’s size through look alone. The models, she says, were likely wearing the wrong sizes (like 92% of women do).
That is, in part, due to Victoria’s Secret’s sizing. On their UK website, the smallest size they offer is 30A, with the biggest being a 44DDD.
‘Immediately, you have the problem that those models — many of whose backs will be smaller than 30 inches — are being put into bigger bands with smaller cups to compensate.’
‘If I had to guess, I would predict they put Ashley Graham in a 40DD, when actually she’s more like a 34HH.’
Katie says she has firsthand experience of getting bad boob advice from Victoria’s Secret.
‘Last year, I visited their shop in Miami and a shop assistant came up to me asking if I needed to know my size.
‘I told her I was a lingerie expert and knew that I was a 30GG, to which she responded “ma’am you’ll actually be a 36DDD in Victoria’s Secret”.
‘I was gobsmacked. The confidence and conviction she said it with took me aback and I worried about young girls going in and being told completely the wrong information about their own size’.
Katie's top tips for best bra fit
‘We always want 80% of our bra support to come from our back band. What you’re looking for is tension and the best way to test that is by putting two fingers underneath the fastening and pulling away about an inch to an inch and a half.
‘We want around the same amount of pull under the straps too, and you don’t want the sliders too tight or high, unless you are particularly petite. They should be giving umph, not lifting up your entire breast.
‘Our cups should encapsulate the breast from the side and bring all that tissue in, and if you’re wearing a wire, I like it to reach the back of your armpit.
‘All of that should mean you avoid the dreaded double boob.’

While she has a lot of praise for how wonderful, empowering and diverse the catwalk is, Katie wishes that more consideration was put into making sure these models are being fit properly.
As well as overstuffed cups, Katie says there were gaping ones, too. ‘Boobs were leaning into the centre because they just didn’t have that back band support and the correct cup size.’
The exception was Megan Thee Stallion, who Katie said appeared to fit her outfit perfectly.
‘From the front, she had a really nice separation and her underwire sat between the centre of her boobs.’
But it wasn’t just an issue of the wrong size, Katie explains. ‘I think a lot of the problems could have been fixed by putting on the bra correctly and doing the “jiggle, scoop and swoop”.
This manoeuvre involves fasting your bra before holding on to the underwire and leaning forward. Next, you shimmy your boobs into the cup to get the bra band right up under the crease of your breast. Then, you pull away the side wire and reach all the way back to near your armpit and bring that breast tissue in and up.
Making sure your lingerie feels good is Katie’s biggest passion and started with a bad bra fitting of her own.
‘Aged 15 and size 12, I was told I was a 38DD and put into a very old-fashioned bra,’ she says.
‘It was my first venture into womanhood and it was horrendous.
‘When I finally got one in my right size, during a placement year at university with Wacoal — which owns brands like Freya and Fantasie, I felt amazing.
‘My boobs looked unreal. They looked like the girls’ in the magazine’.
And that is what Katie wants for all women, including the Victoria’s Secret Angels.
Funnily enough, Katie did a virtual fitting for Kylie’s sister Kim Kardashian when she was pregnant with North West.
‘Kylie, if you would like one too, the door is open.’
