Summarize this article with:
More than 6 billion XRP have been deposited on exchange platforms in the thirty days preceding October 19. This seven-month record signals a strong recovery in transfers, but it does not prove that holders have sold their tokens.

In brief
- More than 6 billion XRP have been deposited on exchange platforms in thirty days, a record in seven months.
- Deposits have doubled since mid-August, with Binance concentrating nearly 41% of inflows.
- Whale withdrawals have dropped by 98.6% since February 2025, indicating a slowdown in their activity.
- This increase in deposits could intensify selling pressure, but does not confirm massive sales.
- XRP price is around 1.30 dollars, a key threshold for the market’s future.
XRP deposits double since mid-August
Cumulative XRP inflows on centralized platforms reached 6.05 billion tokens over thirty days, according to CryptoQuant data. This is the highest level since March 2026 and a doubling compared to the volume observed in mid-August.
This acceleration accompanied strong market volatility. XRP moved from about 1 dollar to a high near 1.70 dollars, before returning to around 1.30 dollars. Key indicators now describe a mixed situation:
- Deposits reached 6.05 billion XRP in thirty days;
- This volume represents a seven-month high;
- Binance received about 2.46 billion XRP;
- Inflows have doubled since mid-August;
- The price has lost nearly 24% since its peak at 1.70 dollars;
- Whale withdrawals fell to their lowest level since October 2021.
Binance accounts for about 40.7% of deposits recorded over the period. Bybit received nearly 580 million XRP, compared to 557 million for OKX and 544 million for Upbit. Bitget recorded about 285 million additional tokens.
These movements increase the amount of XRP available in the platform ecosystem. They can facilitate transactions and strengthen short-term liquidity. They may also precede sales when investors transfer their assets from private wallets.
This second interpretation remains uncertain, however. A deposit does not necessarily correspond to a sell order. Tokens may circulate between platforms, custody services, and market makers, or serve as collateral for financial products.
Whales greatly reduce their withdrawals
Another CryptoQuant indicator shows a decline in large holders’ activity. The 90-day moving average of XRP withdrawals attributed to whales dropped to 49.7 million dollars. This level has not been seen since October 2021.
This average reached about 3.5 billion dollars in February 2025, shortly after XRP traded around 3.40 dollars. It has therefore fallen by 98.6% since that peak.
CryptoQuant estimates that XRP “attracts less and less attention” from large investors. Whales might be waiting for a more favorable price before increasing their exposure. The platform adds that XRP risks lacking buyer volume long term if their support does not return.
However, the decline in withdrawals does not demonstrate that all whales are selling. It mainly means that large transfers from platforms to external wallets are becoming rarer. Such outflows are often interpreted as an accumulation signal because tokens become less readily available for sale.
The market thus shows two signals that can reinforce each other. Deposits increase while large holders’ withdrawals decrease. This combination could create more supply available on platforms if it continues.
The 1.30 dollar threshold remains crucial
XRP trades in a narrow range after its summer rebound. Its return around 1.30 dollars reflects a fragile balance between buyers defending this level and holders taking advantage of rebounds to transfer their tokens.
Flows from U.S. ETFs provide little additional support. After thirteen consecutive weeks of inflows, these products would have recorded about 1.84 million dollars of net outflows in one week. October’s monthly inflows also remain well below those of September.
This institutional slowdown is not enough to announce a new decline. XRP has already shown some resilience during the 2026 bear market. The price will mainly depend on the real destination of the 6.05 billion tokens transferred and the possible return of large buyers.
A stabilization of the XRP price above 1.30 dollars, accompanied by a decline in deposits, would reduce the risk of selling pressure. Conversely, a break of this threshold with continued high inflows could signal that more tokens are arriving on the market just as whale demand weakens.
