The Indiana Fever offseason brought some big headlines for star center Aliyah Boston and also a show of support from teammate Caitlin Clark.
The franchise confirmed that Boston had a procedure on his right knee, performed by Dr. Corey Kendall of Ortho Indy, to repair a lateral meniscus tear.
Although the team had previously listed her injury as a “lower leg issue” for the duration of the season, learning that she needed surgery took the issue to another level with how much Boston’s injury impacted the star big.
Boston soldiered on through a lot of pain – an issue that dated back to the start of the season when she initially suffered the ailment – but ended up playing a great season that earned her fourth WNBA All-Star appearance with averages of 16.1 ppg, 8.0 rpg, and 3.0 apg and a 40.6 shooting percentage from 3-point range that also marked a new career high.
When Clark saw the news that Boston had undergone successful procedure, she immediately reposted the Fever’s announcement on Instagram and shot a four-word recommendation for her teammate: “Comeback gonna go crazy,” wrote Clark.
Boston quickly responded in kind with her own message of support that read, “Thanksss babess.” That display of mutual positivity between young stars who have quickly become the franchise’s two most important pieces illustrates the deep connection they share.
Having gone through her fair share of lower-body injuries herself in her career, Clark knows how grueling rehab can be on the body and the mind.
With Boston slated to fully recover in the coming weeks (a standard 6-8-week window for arthroscopic procedures), Fever fans have much to be excited about, especially if Boston was able to produce that impressive level of a game while injured – fully healthy in 2027 will mean that Clark was right in her prediction: the comeback is going to be crazy.
