PETALING JAYA: Negeri Sembilan's royal court, the Dewan Keadilan dan Undang (DKU), has applied to initiate committal proceedings against menteri besar Ismail Lasim and the 10 former executive council members.
The application originally named the six disputed chieftains before a fresh application was filed at the Seremban High Court on Oct 15 to also name Ismail and the former exco members, Bernama reported.
The DKU and its secretary, Raja Norazli Raja Nordin, accused the 17 of breaching an ad interim injunction concerning the DKU's administration and affairs issued by the High Court on June 5.
The injunction barred the six "chieftains" from holding, calling, continuing or attending any DKU meeting, including a proposed special sitting announced on June 5.
The order also barred them from taking any action that could alter or disrupt the status quo as it stood before May 21.
In July, the High Court granted the DKU and Raja Norazli leave to begin committal proceedings after finding they had established a prima facie case that the six had breached the June 5 interim injunction.
The Court of Appeal stayed the proceedings pending its decision on the appeal against the High Court's ruling.
In their latest application, the DKU and Raja Norazli contended that the six "chieftains" continued to breach the injunction by issuing statements on the ongoing royal crisis between Sept 5 and Oct 11.
They also said Ismail and his former exco attempted to execute a purported proclamation seeking to remove Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir as Yang Dipertuan Besar, despite being aware of the court injunction.
