Wike debunks reported support for Adamawa LP governorship candidate

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has described as “fake,” a report on social media indicating his support for the Labour Party (LP) governorship candidate in Adamawa state, Senator Ishaku Abbo.

Wike, who said this through his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, stressed that he had no relationship with LP and any of its candidates in Adamawa state. 

The social media post had quoted Wike as saying that people of Adamawa state should make informed and thoughtful decisions at the ballot, adding that in his opinion, Ishaku Abbo is best fit for the leadership of the state. 

However, the FCT minister described the report as “fake,” saying he did not at any time endorse Ishaku Abbo or any candidate of the LP.

He called on the people of Adamawa state to disregard the social media report, saying that whoever he was supporting, he would use his own mouth to say it.
