Former Sydney police officer Beau Lamarre-Condon told a friend he had shot two people, asked for help cleaning up his "mess", and later joked he did not realise bodies would be heavy, a jury has heard.
Mr Lamarre-Condon is accused of shooting Jesse Baird and his boyfriend, Luke Davies, using his police pistol in Mr Baird's Paddington share house on February 19, 2024.
The 31-year-old has pleaded not guilty and is arguing self-defence.
A friend of Mr Lamarre-Condon on Friday told the Supreme Court trial the then-police officer called him in February 2024 and said he needed to speak with him, before arriving at the man's work in a hire car.
"He said … 'I've done something'," the witness told the court.
"He said 'I've killed people'."
The witness, whose identity cannot be reported due to a court order, gave evidence that he asked if he was kidding.
He said the accused said it "didn't even feel like him" and felt like an "out-of-body experience".
'Pew pew' gun gesture
The friend recalled asking how it happened, and testified Mr Lamarre-Condon said it was with his gun, made a gun gesture with his hand, and said: "Pew pew."
"He said, 'I shot the first one through the head and the second one through the door'," the witness told the court.
The witness said the accused told him he had waited outside for other tenants of the property to leave and entered the home.
He gave evidence that the accused told him the second person was shot when he heard someone trying to call the police and "couldn't leave any witnesses".

Mr Lamarre-Condon appeared "stressed and panicked", the court was told.
"He said the second person wasn't meant to be shot."
The witness said Mr Lamarre-Condon did not tell him who the two people were, but asked him to get the day off work "to help him clean up his mess", including lifting the bodies because "the bodies were heavy".
He said he was "in shock" but told the accused that he could not leave work.
'That's not a f***ing joke'
Later, he received a FaceTime call from the accused who said he was joking, which the witness said left him "quite angry".
"I said, 'That's not a f***ing joke, you're mentally f***ing with me, that's not funny at all'," he told jurors.
"I was trying to figure out if this is a real thing or not."
In subsequent days they met up to have sushi in Cronulla, the court heard, and afterwards the witness said the defendant told him he needed to throw out bloodied clothes in a tip, before then suggesting a skip bin.
The two stopped at a skip bin near a Cronulla bowls club and the friend got out to check how full it was, the court heard.

The jury has previously heard that possessions and clothes of Mr Baird and Mr Davies were found dumped in that skip bin.
The witness said at one point, the defendant made a gesture to his legs and said they were sore.
"He said: "I didn't realise bodies would be heavy."
Asked by the prosecutor about the defendant's tone, the witness replied: "In a joke type of manner".
He said at this stage he had not seen any news stories about a disappearance and remained uncertain whether the situation was real.
He said he asked directly whether the person involved was Mr Baird, having previously spoken to Mr Lamarre-Condon about him in conversations about their exes, but the defendant "laughed and said no".
The witness said there was also a conversation where the defendant told him he planned to leave the bodies in water and use cement to weigh them down.
He said the defendant spoke about "a mate's property" being a potential site.

The Crown alleges Mr Lamarre-Condon killed Mr Baird, having developed an obsessive and jealous infatuation with him after a casual romance in parts of 2023, and allegedly murdered Mr Baird to eliminate a witness.
Mr Lamarre-Condon's lawyers have flagged that he will argue the two men died in separate struggles involving the pistol.
The bodies of Mr Baird and Mr Davies were found in rural Bungonia in surfboard bags eight days after the alleged murders.
The Crown alleges the defendant had initially made an unsuccessful attempt to sink them in a dam on a farm in the area.
The trial is now in its fifth week, with an estimated duration of three months.
