Russian ballistic missiles hit Kyiv for second consecutive day without advance warning
Russian ballistic missiles struck Kyiv for a second consecutive day without advance warning from Ukraine’s Western partners, Ukrainian officials said.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Ukraine’s systems detected the missiles only when they were already approaching the capital, leaving little time for preparation.
The latest strike followed another ballistic missile attack on Kyiv that Ukrainian officials said hit civilian infrastructure. Zelenskyy stressed that timely intelligence on missile launches is critical to protecting civilians and saving lives.
Ukraine has not publicly established why advance warnings were not received on either day.
